PHCY 446 - Neurology Cr Hrs: 4 (0-160)
This one-month advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE) is an elective patient care rotation is designed to give the student a well-rounded experience in neurology with practice activities performed among the inpatient services. The patient population will include adult patients admitted to the neurology unit at Fort Sanders. Students will attend various meetings as determined by the preceptor, including Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee and Fort Sanders Acute Stroke Team (FSAST). Opportunities will be available for exposure to minimally invasive neurointerventional techniques for treating stroke, aneurysms, and other vascular diseases in the brain through utilization of bi-plane angiography. It is anticipated that the student shall arrive at the practice site at 8 am and leave by 6 pm Monday through Friday.
