PHCY 1105 - Interprofessional Education and Clinical Simulation l


Cr Hrs: 2 (1-2-0)

This required course is designed to use a combination of lectures, team-based activities and clinical simulation as a way to teach and assess skills-based activities essential to pharmacy practice. This course addresses verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on counseling patients about medications and disease. The course will also introduce student pharmacist to drug information resources, assessment of questions, and provision of that information to other care providers. The course will also include an interprofessional exercise with the expressed purpose of bringing together learners from two or more health professions to increase mutual respect and understanding of their unique roles and perspectives, to enhance collaboration and communication, and to improve patient outcomes.  

This course may be repeated for up to 2 credit hours.
