This course focuses on the critical analysis and application of current theory, research, and knowledge relevant to the midwifery management of the individual during the intrapartum and postpartum periods. Emphasis is placed on societal and cultural issues surrounding families. The impact of social determinants of health on populations at greatest risk for adverse outcomes is emphasized
