The College of Pharmacy offers theDoctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD). This is an entry-level professional doctorate similar to that of other health sciences (e.g., Medicine, Dentistry). Graduate programs leading to either the Master of Science or to the Doctor of Philosophy degree are available through the UTHSC College of Graduate Health Sciences. Graduate degrees are offered in pharmaceutical sciences (with concentrations in medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, bioanalysis, and pharmacometrics) as well as in health outcomes and policy research (with concentrations in health policy/health services research and in health systems pharmacy management). A dual PharmD/PhD program, based within the College of Pharmacy (PharmD) and the College of Graduate Health Sciences (PhD), is available to select students. The College also offers a dual PharmD/Master of Health Informatics and Information Management (MHIIM) program, based within the Colleges of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Health Professions (Department of Health Informatics and Information Management; MHIIM) which is available to select students. Finally, the College and the University of Memphis Fogelman College of Business and Economics offer a dual degree program leading to a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Memphis. Certificates in Health Informatics and Information Management (offered through the College of Health Professions) and Nuclear Pharmacy are available for select students enrolled in the PharmD program; additional information is available from the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
