Tuition, Fees and Expenses

Information about tuition and fees for the individual programs in the College of Pharmacy may be found on the bursar’s website (http://www.uthsc.edu/finance/bursar/fees.php) with additional information regarding estimates available on financial aid at http://www.uthsc.edu/finaid/Pharmacy.php.

Additional Expenses

Printed handouts are not provided to support educational programs. Students can print their own copy of materials from the course management system, but the student will assume all cost in excess of that covered through registration fees. Students are given a limited amount of printing dollars at the start of their first year to use throughout their duration at the College. When and if they reach or go over the given amount, they will be required to pay for printing on their own. Students must have an appropriate laptop for wireless testing and should refer to the College website for specifications. Students are also encouraged, but not required, to have a color printer. Students are also required to pay for the specified CPR certification course. American Pharmacists Association Immunization certification, Pre-NAPLEX (North American Pharmacists Licensure Examination), Medication Therapy Management (MTM) certification, Point of Care Training (POCT) training certificate, and RxPrep (Board review course) are paid for as part of their course fees. Students will be financially responsible for remediation of the Pharmacy Curriculum Outcomes Assessment (PCOA). Students are responsible for any additional costs to complete experiential curricular requirements, Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs).  Costs include, and are not limited to, onboarding fees for practice sites, intern licenses, transportation, and housing.

Required Textbooks

Students may access many of the required books for courses in their professional program by visiting the e-book holding in the UTHSC library. Individual course syllabi will contain other required and recommended textbooks and students will be given information on how to purchase.
