PHCY 2105 - Interprofessional Education and Clinical Simulation lll


Cr Hrs: 1 (1-0-0)

This required course is designed to use active and team-based learning techniques, and clinical simulation to educate student pharmacist about various types of diseases including diabetes, asthma/COPD, and acute and chronic kidney disease. The learner will continue to build on communication skills learned in PHCY 1105 and PHCY 1205 and will gain new skills in how to use and education patients about home monitoring devices for glucose assessment, administration of insulin, and use of inhalers/nebulizers. The course will include interprofessional activities that bringing together learners from two or more health professions to increase mutual respect and understanding of their unique roles and perspectives, to enhance collaboration and communication, and to improve patient outcomes. 

This course may be repeated for up to 1 credit hour.
