ORS 45010 - General Orthopaedics
Cr Hrs: 6 Session Length: 4 weeks
This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 6 credit hours. The student should function with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in several of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. This elective will give the student a general overview of the specialty of Orthopaedic Surgery. It will be an intensive exposure to Campbell Clinic, Regional One Health, Methodist Hospital and/or Baptist Hospital Collierville. The elective includes various conferences and meetings within orthopaedics including adult and children’s fractures and other injuries, reconstructive surgery and hand surgery. The elective is designed for students who are considering careers in Orthopaedic Surgery, other surgery specialties, Family Medicine, or Pediatrics.
