ANE 40110 - Junior Internship in Operative Anesthesiology
Cr Hrs: 6 Session Length: 4 weeks
This is a face to face clinical rotation.The student will function as a junior intern with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in all of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation.The intent of this rotation is to introduce interested and motivated students to various aspects of anesthesia practice. This will include: General anesthesia.Trauma anesthesia, Obstetrical anesthesia, Outpatient anesthesia, Acute Pain Service (APS), Cardiac and thoracic anesthesia Pediatric anesthesia, Transplant anesthesia, Neurosurgical anesthesia. Students will be assigned a contact at each hospital who will insert them into a clinical anesthesia team in the respective institution. At the completion of this elective rotation the student should have a grasp of fundamental aspects of anesthesia care and a basic understanding of the broad clinical range of anesthesia care.
