SUR 40111 - Junior Internship in Surgical Critical Care
Cr Hrs: 6 Session Length: 4 weeks
This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 6 credit hours. The student will function as a junior intern with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in all of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. This junior internship is to provide an environment with strict faculty supervision dedicated to the education of medical students in the medical and surgical management of critically ill patients, to enhance the development of technical skills and knowledge for the evaluation and treatment of the critically ill patients, and to teach medical students to function as an effective member of a critical care management team. Student will be assigned at least four, 24 hour call nights over the four-week period.
