IP 806 - Biochemistry
Cr Hrs: 3 (48-0-0) The course presents the fundamental aspects of biochemistry including biochemical and biophysical principles (bonding, properties of water, thermodynamics, ionization and acid-base theory, and enzymology); structure, synthesis, and function of proteins and enzymes; metabolism of sugars, amino acids, nucleotides, nucleosides, vitamins, coenzymes and lipids; energy production and conversion; mitochondria and bioenergetics; photosynthesis; membrane transport proteins; cytochrome P450 and cell signaling.
