NSY 45020 - Neurosurgery
Cr Hrs: 3, 6 Session Length: 2 and 4 weeks
This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 3 or 6 credit hours. The student should function with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in several of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. The student will serve under the preceptorship of the faculty at The University of Tennessee Memorial Hospital and will become familiar with cranial and spinal trauma, tumors, congenital malformations, vascular disease, and benign spinal disease. The student will scrub and assist the staff with operative procedures, participate in peri- operative care, and will become familiar with neuroanatomical basis of diagnosis and treatment.
