OBG 40100 - Junior Internship in Obstetrics
Cr Hrs: 6 Session Length: 4 weeks
This is a face-to-face clinical rotation receiving 6 credit hours. The student will function as a junior intern with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in all of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. This 4-week elective is designed for students interested in an in-depth experience in high-risk obstetrics. Students will work with Ob/Gyn Faculty, MFM faculty, MFM Fellows, and Ob/Gyn Residents in the high-risk specialty clinics, antepartum testing and obstetrical ultrasound, as well as Labor and Delivery and Evaluations. Students will be supervised in spontaneous vaginal deliveries, forceps deliveries, and obstetrical surgical procedures. Students will attend daily rounds, Didactics (Tuesday AM), Congenital Anomaly Conferences (Wednesday AM) and monthly Grand Rounds (Tuesday AM).
