NMW 800 - Birth Matters- A Midwifery Perspective

This course focuses on the role and function of midwives domestically and globally. Particular attention is placed on an interprofessional approach to concepts and themes integral to the holistic practice of midwifery in the United States. Emphasis is placed on the historical development and evolution of midwifery, its influence on outcomes in care of childbearing families, as well as barriers to full integration and recognition of midwives on the maternity care team.
