OBG 45013 - Gynecologic Oncology
Cr Hrs: 6 Session Length: 4 weeks
This is a face-to-face clinical rotation receiving 6 credit hours. The student will function with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in several of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. This 4 week elective will allow the student to become more familiar with Gynecologic Oncology as a surgical subspecialty, including the surgical and medical treatment of gyn cancers. Close faculty contact provides exposure to the most recent advances in detection, prevention, and treatment of gynecologic cancers.The student will attend daily rounds, actively participate in surgery and clinic, and be responsible for approximately 10 patients per week. There will be supervision by a Gynecologic Oncology Attending and UT Nashville Residents. The student will also attend conferences that are offered during their 4 weeks on the elective.
