MED 45033 - Hematology and Oncology
Cr Hrs: 6 Session Length: 4 weeks
This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 6 credit hours. The student should function with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in several of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. This elective can be at the VA or ROH and will aid the student in gaining expertise in the examination, diagnosis and management of patients with hematological and oncological disorders. The student will participate in daily rounds with an attending physician and team. The student will participate directly in patient care, learning not only current hematological and oncological techniques of diagnosis and treatment but basic concepts of end of life care including palliative and hospice care.
