SUR 35041 - Trauma Surgery CE

This career exploration course (CE) will allow third year medical students to explore the trauma surgery discipline as a potential career choice. Students will be expected to attend weekly conferences, clinics, and surgical seminars. Students will also participate in the 24 hour call shifts assigned by the department. The objective of this clerkship is to familiarize the student with the basic pathophysiologic, diagnostic and therapeutic modalities involved in the art and science of surgery. They will demonstrate their ability to work as part of a surgical team by presenting cases, developing differential diagnosis and formulating plans for patient work-ups and treatments.
