ORS 40110 - Junior Internship in Orthopaedic Surgery
Cr Hrs: 6 Session Length: 4 weeks

Students on this orthopedic rotation are offered a hands-on experience to be part of the orthopedic team. There will be 4 one-week rotations, most often including; trauma, pediatrics, sports and shoulder/elbow. The Junior Intern will be expected to round on inpatients, perform appropriate transitions of care, perform consults on the floor and in office, assist with surgical procedures and take call with the orthopedic residents. The didactic program consists, but not limited to, daily morning conferences on specific orthopedic topics, morbidity and mortality conference, grand rounds and a once a month nightly journal club. The Junior Intern will be evaluated by the faculty member and residents they work with.
