ANE 35020 - Anesthesiology CE
Cr Hrs: 3 Session Length: 2 weeks
PD
This is a face to face clinical rotation. This career exploration course (CE) will allow third year medical students to explore this discipline as a potential career choice. Introductory exposure to the specialty of perioperative medicine. This is largely an experiential rotation with exposure to patients in the perioperative setting, including general and regional anesthetics, obstetrical anesthesia, trauma and emergency surgical procedures, with additional emphasis on preoperative and postoperative care. The learner is expected to be an active participant in the rotation while not maintaining sole responsibility for patient care during the rotation. Due to lack of space for accommodation during first semester, we will accept M3 students during 2nd semester only; however, we will accept more students than previously allowed during 2nd semester to ensure the same number of opportunities exist for students. Prior authorization required to ensure we are not overbooked when looking at all rotations together as a whole and space available.
