PSY 45045 - Outpatient Psychiatry Elective
Cr Hrs: 6 Session Length: 4 weeks

This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 6 credit hours. The student should function with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in several of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. During the course of this rotation, students will gain a greater understanding of caring for patients in the outpatient setting. Students will perform interviews and document findings. They will develop differential diagnoses and work with the team to create treatment plans which consider both medication and other therapeutic forms of treatment. Specifically, students will understand biologic, social, and psychological factors of a patient’s presentation and address these factors in treatment planning.
The students will have the following schedule:
Monday: AM- Adult outpatient clinic PM- Child Psychotherapy clinic
Tuesday: AM: Alliance Health Services PM- Alliance Health Services
Wednesday : AM- LeBonheur Child Psych Clinic PM: ROH Adult Specialty Care clinic
Thursday: AM- Adult outpatient clinic PM: Adult outpatient clinnic and didactics
Friday: AM: Center of excellence Child Clinic PM: Adult outpatient clinic
