PHCY 1403  - IPPE 3: Introduction to Telehealth Medication Therapy Management

This required introductory experiential course provides students with hands-on exposure to Medication Therapy Management (MTM) in a telehealth pharmacy practice setting. Students will develop foundational skills in patient-centered care by using professional communication skills to telephonically conduct targeted medication reviews, identify medication-related problems, and formulate interventions to optimize therapy. The course will focus on strategies to improve medication adherence and optimize therapeutic outcomes. The course will provide students insight into the pharmacist’s role in MTM services, including chronic disease management, medication reconciliation, and preventive care initiatives.
