PED 45039 - Pediatric Cardiology
Cr Hrs: 3, 6 Session Length: 2 and 4 weeks

This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 3 or 6 credit hours. The student should function with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in several of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. This is primarily an outpatient experience, with a limited amount of inpatient exposure. The student will shadow the preceptor and will have increasing opportunities to be involved in the physical exam process. There will be extensive conversations related to the clinical cases observed. Directed personal readings will be a key aspect of this rotation. The student will be required to present a PowerPoint discussion at the end of the rotation on a pediatric cardiology topic selected by the student and preceptor.
