The aim of this course is to gain an understanding of major drug classes and drug targets in infectious
diseases and the challenges associated with drug-resistance. This course will help you learn the
different therapeutic modalities such as broad-spectrum synthetic, natural products, and peptide based
antimicrobial agents, antimycobacterial agents, antifungal and antiviral agents. In addition to the
classical chemotherapeutic agents, recent literature in infectious diseases will be reviewed in this course.
