Cr Hrs: 3, 6 Session Length: 2 or 4 weeks
PD
This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 3 or 6 credit hours. The student should function with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in several of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. This 2 or 4 week elective introduces learners of all experience levels to emergency medicine ultrasonography. The course covers core POCUS topics, including FAST (Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma), cardiac and lung ultrasound, and abdominal imaging for conditions like cholecystitis and hydronephrosis. Using a flipped-classroom model, participants engage in high-quality asynchronous content, such as video lectures and case module, and reinforce skills through hands-on practice with expert guidance.
