The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Pharmacy and the University of Memphis School of Public Health have aligned to offer an easy transfer of some credits between the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the UTHSC and a Master of Public Health (MPH).
Student must complete all requirements for each degree and be awarded the PharmD and MPH degrees according to all requirements and specifications for each degree that the respective institutions. Students must apply and be accepted to both programs separately. Acceptance by one program does not guarantee admission to the other degree program as each admission process is conducted on an independent basis. Both institutions will collect tuition and fees separately.
A student must fulfill all requirements for admission to the MPH program as specified by the University of Memphis. Students who do not have a bachelor degree must complete all requirements of the PharmD degree prior to MPH being awarded. The MPH program will accept as transfer a maximum of 9 credit hours of pre-determined pharmacy coursework. The PharmD program will accept as transfer a maximum of six (6) credit hours of MPH coursework with a grade earned of C- or better that will be counted towards elective credit hour requirements. Students are responsible to request transfer of credit. Transfer of credit must occur prior to entering Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences.
