Completion Requirements
This 12 credit-hour certificate provides the knowledge and skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis and policy and economic evaluation to meet the current and future demands of healthcare. The certificate addresses the gaps in the training of pharmacy and other health professionals to allow them to advance beyond direct patient care roles and strategically support their healthcare organizations. The curriculum emphasizes the population-level effects of health policies, systems, and interventions on health outcomes, focusing on therapeutic outcomes from medication use. The courses are offered asynchronously and online so a student can continue to work while completing the certificate program. The certificate aims to produce high-quality, forward-thinking graduates to lead the pharmacy profession and healthcare workforce into the future with data-driven decisions and an emphasis on care optimization.
The following are the minimum requirements for admission:
1. Bachelor of Science degree, professional degree, or equivalent in pharmacy or other healthcare related field with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale) from an accredited institution
2. A short personal statement
3. Official transcripts
4. Virtual interview with faculty (at the request of the program director)
5. International, non-English-speaking students: Score from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or another equivalent test

The following requirements must be satisfied to earn the certificate in Clinical and Translational Pharmacy:
1. Satisfactory completion of 6 credit hours of required coursework:
• PHCY 7001: Data Analysis in Health Outcomes and Policy Research
• PHCY 7002: Health Policy in Pharmacy
2. Satisfactory completion of 6 credit hours of elective credit or two of the following electives:
• PHCY 7003: Health Behavior and Qualitative Research in Pharmacy: Study Design and Analysis
• PHCY 7004: Epidemiology in Pharmacy
• PHCY 7005: Introduction to Health and Pharmaceutical Economics
3. Completion of courses with an average GPA of 3.0
4. Timeline: 12 months
5. Discharge of all financial obligations to the University.
