All institution-wide policies and procedures guiding the academic programs offered through the UTHSC are available in one of two places: (1) the official student handbook, CenterScope and, (2) on the UTHSC policy site (at https://policy.tennessee.edu/procedures/ut-health-sciences-center-handbooks-and-procedures/). CenterScope, the official student handbook for the institution, provides important information on student government, academic and student support services, technology support services, available health services, financial aid, emergency procedures, institution-wide policies and procedures of particular relevance for students, rights and responsibilities of students, the Student Code of Conduct, the judicial system governing student actions, and a summary of a variety of organizations and opportunities for students. Policies and procedures governing academic, faculty and student affairs are available at the website provided above and are updated routinely. Students are strongly encouraged to review the information provided in CenterScope, and in the present bulletin, upon acceptance into one of the UTHSC programs. In addition, students are encouraged to review the following policies as they directly relate to successful progression and completion of the degree programs offered at UTHSC.

The UTHSC Financial Aid Office is required to monitor a student’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). The Financial Aid Office determines a student’s SAP standing at the conclusion of every term. Students are encouraged to review the SAP requirements at https://policy.tennessee.edu/procedure/em118-satisfactory-academic-progress/. Failure to meet SAP standards will result in a student becoming ineligibility for federal financial aid. Any questions regarding SAP should be directed to the student’s assigned Financial Aid Counselor listed at http://www.uthsc.edu/finaid/important-information/staff.php.
