PHCY 1104 - Foundations of Pharmacy Cr Hrs: 2.5 (1.5-2-0) This required course provides an introduction to the profession of pharmacy. Material centers on health delivery models, the environment in which health care is rendered, and interprofessional care with a focus on the roles of the pharmacist. Students learn about a variety of career opportunities and will self-assess their potential interest using the APhA Career Pathways Program. This course will also enhance the student’s understanding of professionalism and the responsibility of a pharmacist in society and the health care system. The course also examines the role of human professional behaviors and values as mediators of health and illness, with a focus on health care disparities and health literacy.
This course may be repeated for up to 2.5 credit hours.
