ORS 45020 - Children’s Orthopaedics Cr Hrs: 6 Session Length: 4 weeks
This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 6 credit hours. The student should function with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in several of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. This elective is designed for those students who are interested in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, and Orthopaedic Surgery. It will introduce the student to problems of children’s orthopaedics including such areas as trauma, congenital anomalies, cerebral palsy and other neuromuscular disorders, scoliosis, congenital and acquired amputations and common developmental deformities of the lower extremities in children. The student will be assigned to Hospital will participate in the clinics, surgery, and conferences of the service.
