PED 35010 - Pediatric Allergy-Clinical Immunology CE Cr Hrs: 3, 6 Session Length: 2 and 4 weeks
This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving either 3 or 6 credit hours. This career exploration course (CE) will allow third year medical students to explore this discipline as a potential career choice. This clinical allergy/immunology elective is designed to give student an understanding of the basic principles of diagnosis and management of children with allergic and immunologic diseases. The emphasis of this elective will be on the evaluation and treatment of the asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, food allergy, urticaria, insect allergy, anaphylaxis and recurrent infection. Reading assignment will be given during elective and students will participate in the weekly allergy immunology conference.
