MED1 4021/H - Dermatology Oncology Cr Hrs: 3.5 Session Length: 2 weeks
This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 3.5 credit hours. The student should function with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in several of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. This clinical elective in skin oncology will instruct the student in the recognition, treatment, and prevention of malignancies of the skin. Instruction will be offered in conventional surgical excision, electrodessication and curettage, cryosurgery and Mohs micrographic surgery.
Training in a clinical setting will be provided as it relates to anatomy, pathology, oncology, histochemical techniques, and local anesthesia.
