MED3 4131/F - Pulmonology Cr Hrs: 3.5, 7 Session Length: 2 and 4 weeks
This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 3.5 or 7 credit hours. The student should function with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in several of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. This elective pulmonary rotation is a one-month elective rotation for fourth year medical students in which the principles of pulmonary medicine are emphasized. Socioeconomic issues such as complications of substance abuse or lack of timely medical care will be addressed. Ethical issues concerning the intensity of care are often encountered. The appropriate environmental precautions and hazards are frequently discussed when isolation of patients is required.
