PAT1 4014/F - Advanced Pathology


Cr Hrs: 3.5, 7
Session Length: 2 and 4 weeks

This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 3.5 or 7 credit hours. This course will provide additional hospital based pathology experience for students who have taken the basic elective. Primarily this elective is intended for students interested in a career in pathology. A senior resident mentor will be assigned to each student. There will be five to seven weekly conferences. The student will attend all required resident conferences, assist in autopsies, surgical dissections, and case sign-out. Participation in a laboratory QA project is encouraged, and students may have opportunities to spend time in areas they have particular interest (blood bank, cytology, forensics, etc.).

Prerequisites: Completion of all CORE Clerkships and successful completion of PAT1/4010/F or PAT2/4010/F or PAT3-4010/F
