ORTH 301 - Orthodontic Diagnosis and Treatment
Cr Hrs: 2 (32-0-0) In this course, the student is provided with the necessary instruction to perform a comprehensive orthodontic examination, assemble data from diagnostic records, and plan the course of patient treatment. The student is introduced to a variety of contemporary fixed and removable appliances, their component parts and properties, and indications for their use. Instruction also is given on the procedures for placement and adjustment of the appliances, including the mechanical properties of orthodontic materials and biomechanical principles governing orthodontic tooth movement.
