PAS 609 - Behavioral Medicine
Cr Hrs: 4 (4 weeks) In this rotation, students will be exposed to common psychosocial and substance abuse conditions encountered in the primary care setting. Focus will be on recognizing and understanding the development and presentation of these behaviors and how to provide interventions and treatment. Development of clinical counseling skills is emphasized. Students participate in field assignments by attending various group meetings, i.e., AA, weight watchers, hospice, or other support groups.
