PED3 4010/F - Pediatric Neurology
Cr Hrs: 3.5, 7 Session Length: 2 and 4 weeks
This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 3.5 or 7 credit hours. The student should function with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in several of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. This is a face to face clinical rotation in which the student will be exposed to children diagnosed with neurologic conditions to include seizures/epilepsy, headache, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, movement disorders, and sleep disorders. Students will see patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Students will be exposed to diagnostic procedures to include EEG, Polysomnogram, Botox Injection therapy, Baclofen Pump therapy. Students will be instructed on performing a comprehensive neurologic examination. Students will be instructed on generating a differential diagnosis based on neurologic anatomic localization.
