PSY1 3012/F - Junior Internship in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry

Session Length: 4 weeks

This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 7 credit hours. The student will function as a junior intern with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in all of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. The student will learn to independently do psychiatric assessments on consultants, round on all assigned patients, present to the attending team, and complete required documentation. Students will also build skills in establishing rapport with patients and families, and in communicating the psychiatric diagnosis and treatment plan in the consultation report to the referring physician and team.
