OT 549 - Evidence-Based Practice II

This course includes exploration of the principles of research design, critical analysis of occupational therapy research, and completion of a research proposal based on the Evidence-Based Practice project completed in Evidence-Based Practice I. Introduction to clinical inquiry skills for qualitative and quantitative research is also included. Emphasis will be on problem definition and research design and methodology, with an overview of descriptive and inferential statistics. Students will gain knowledge and develop skills allowing them to be informed consumers of research literature, to recognize appropriate use of quantitative and qualitative methodologies, and to complete an evidence-based practice project and presentation in Evidence-Based Practice III.
