CLS 795 - Clinical Application of Molecular Diagnostics

This course is a two-week supervised laboratory experience that focuses on the utilization of molecular techniques and their application in clinical diagnostics and testing. The course will explore the performance of advanced molecular techniques and their utilization in clinical research and/or disease diagnosis. Student experiences will be unique to their rotation site and may include techniques such as flow cytometry, tissue typing, genetic sequencing, blotting or probe technology, qPCR/RT-PCR, cytogenetics, or various technologies utilized in molecular pathology or microbiology. Students will be required to generate, analyze, and interpret results with the assistance of clinical faculty or laboratory personnel to successfully complete this course.
