PD
This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 3 or 6 credit hours. Emphasis will be placed on proper clinical skills, and on the utilization and interpretation of appropriate diagnostic testing. The student will learn to manage most outpatient cardiac problems and will acquire skills necessary in making judgments concerning which patients should be referred to a specialized cardiovascular center. The student will participate in patient evaluation, and in the interpretation of diagnostic data, including examination findings, EKG’s, and in the interpretation of reported echocardiographic and cardiac catheterization data. The rotation is predominantly outpatient, but participation in inpatient consultations is encouraged.
