PED 45031 - Pediatric Neurology-LEB

Session Length: 2 and 4 weeks

This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 3 or 6 credit hours. The student should function with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in several of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. This elective is designed to provide the student with a broad neurological experience in an inpatient and an outpatient rotation through the Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. The student will evaluate patients on the neurology service as well as those on other services requesting a neurology consultation. Clinical history, neurological examination, neurodiagnostic studies (EEG, CT Scan, MRI, EMG, Nerve Conduction) and management will be stressed. Outpatients will be seen in the Neurology Clinic and the Muscular Dystrophy Association Clinic. The student will be required to attend Grand Rounds in Pediatrics, Neurology and Pediatric Neuroscience Conference rounds each week.
