PSY 30000 - Core Clerkship in Psychiatry (Chattanooga)
Cr Hrs: 6 Session Length: 4 weeks

This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 6 credit hours. Core Clerkship in Psychiatry is a four week requirement for all medical students. Students are assigned to a general inpatient service. Lectures, reading, case conferences, and mandatory exposure to Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The student is expected to gain basic knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, applied psychopharmacology, and non-pharmacologic treatment options. Emphasis is on information useful to students regardless of their future specialty choice. This clerkship is offered in Chattanooga year-round.
