MT 416 - Parasitology and Virology
Cr Hrs: 3 40-20-0 UG
Lecture and laboratory exercises which emphasize classification and identification of parasites of medical importance including morphology of infective and diagnostic forms. In addition, consideration of arthropod vectors, laboratory quality control and proper specimen collection and handling are included. The second part of the course focuses on the nature, classification, physiochemical properties, multiplication, host cell relationships and immunology of viruses of human importance. Current techniques of laboratory diagnosis will also be discussed.
