IDE 45060 - Shainberg-Lazarov Scholars Program: Ben-Gurion Multicultural Health International Elective

Cr Hrs: 6
Session Length: 4 weeks

PD

This is a face to face clinical rotation receiving 6 credit hours.  The student should function with increased autonomy in patient care and must demonstrate competency in several of the Entrustable Professional Activities required for graduation. The Ben-Gurion UTHSC Multicultural Health Exchange rotation is a unique opportunity for UTHSC medical students to perform an away clinical rotation in Israel at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. This partnership will enable UTHSC students to engage in clinical and non clinical activities alongside Ben-Gurion students at the Medical School for International Health. Through the partnership, UTHSC students are free to select a rotation of their choice, dependent on availability, and will have unique opportunities to participate in culturally unique programming with vulnerable populations in Israel. In addition, the long tradition of global health at Ben-Gurion will provide ample opportunity to explore, engage in and participate in seminars, immersion experiences, and research projects. Students must apply and be selected by the Selection Committee for the Shainberg-Lazarov Scholars Exchange Program in order participate. Application period will be widely announced when this becomes available.
