MCP 571 - Laboratory Techniques
Cr Hrs: 4 (40-60) PM
Offered annually in summer/fall term, lecture and laboratory course which introduces the collection, preparation, and staining of cytologic specimens from gynecologic and non-gynecologic body sites. Fine needle aspiration preparation, special stains, techniques of fixation, and cell block preparation will also be emphasized. Adjunctive techniques applicable to cytopathology such as immunocytochemistry, FISH, ISH, and HPV DNA testing methods will also be presented.
