PMH 814 - Individual, Group, & Family Therapy Clinical Practice
Cr Hrs: 2 (0-0-2) PD
This course focuses on the role and practice of psychotherapy as an advanced practice nurse for individual, group, and family therapy. Therapeutic interventions based on bio-psycho-social assessment and specific selected theoretical perspectives are provided for individuals, families, and groups. Health promotion, disease prevention, and expansion of the consultation role in advanced practice psychiatric mental health nursing are incorporated. Clinical experience includes medication prescribing and monitoring. Reflective practice strategies are introduced.
